Garrison Boys’ High School was established in
1963 when Azam Garrison Girls High School was bifurcated
so as to have separate schools, one for boys and one
for the girls. The institution started with 161 boys
while staff members were only 7. Now there are 63 teachers
for over 1300 students.
Location:
The School is located between Tufail Road and Sarfraz
Rafiqui Road near Girja Chowk, with its eastern gate
just opposite the Lahore Cantt Head Post Office in Lahore
Cantt, Punjab, Pakistan.
The school was opened in old JCOs’ club, known
as Sir Michael Odwyer Institute for Britich Troops (built
1912), which consisted of sixteen rooms of various sizes.
With the passage of time and in view of ever increasing
number of students, more classrooms and laboratories
were added. Four beautiful blocks comprising 30 rooms
in all furnished with new furniture have been added
to the existing building. At present the School has
3 Science Laboratories, Two Computer Laboratories (Resource
Centres), Computerized Libaray, Vast Lawns, Cricket
Pitch, Football and Hockey Lawns, and 39 classrooms.
